Hi, You may have to get back to basics and check a few things first. If you have a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to use it, then this will help. a) Using the DMM’s DC Voltmeter function, check that the laptop’s charger’s output is +18.5V DC. (Have you tried a different compatible charger at all and check if that works?) b) Using the DMM’s Ohmmeter function check the laptop’s power connector cable for continuity from the laptop’s power socket to the cable’s connector plug that connects to the motherboard.. Here’s a link to the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Scroll to p.67 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the cable. Test the cable with it disconnected from the motherboard. If it turns out that the socket part of the power connector cable is faulty internally, (sometimes the centre pin breaks away internally from the connection, therefore there is an o/c in the path for the power to the laptop) then the entire cable will have to be replaced as it cannot be repaired. The part number is shown on top of p.67 in the manual. If you search online using the part number only in the search term, you’ll get results for suppliers. A faulty socket could mean that the laptop’s battery was not charging properly and therefore the laptop turned off and also that the supply from the charger was not getting through to run the laptop either.
