I am new to Xbox and when I recently bought one the headset I used for PS4 didn’t work, there was no sound and the microphone didn’t function. I tried a separate set of normal earphones but also got no audio. I proceeded to buy a headset off eBay that claimed to work with the Xbox but when I plugged it in the audio still didn’t come through.
It could be the controller that may have a faulty connection port. Try cleaning the port out or to see if its the headphones or the controller,try using another controller.
