How do I fix a faulty charging port? This is not a cord issue. I bought new cords and they work with another phone. The faulty port appears to be a documented equipment manufacturing issue with Nokia. I have to angle the cord’s USB connector just right into the phone port to get it to charge. To keep the connector in that critical position, I have to firmly secure the plugged phone between a wall and a weight. It is very touchy and the bending eventually destroys the usb connector on the cord. The problem is getting worse and today I cannot get it to start charging at all despite trying all positions and cords. I fear it will go dead. I tried contacting Nokia and I think they won’t take responsibility for this defect and the phone is less than 1.5 years old.
Hi @denmar1 , Here’s a video that shows how to replace the charge port - example only in the phone. Replacements are available online. Just search for Nokia 7.1. charge port to get results for suppliers that suit you. If doing this yourself seems too daunting, contact a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service and ask for a quote.
Had same issue, eventually plucked up courage to buy replacement charge port and a heat gun. 15 minute job, all good. 58 years old, watch a couple of Youtube demos and dive in, turn off phone, remove sim/sdcard before applying heat!
I have the same problem, its USB-C module. It needs to be replaced. Here in Europe many places can do it for ~50 +
