i put ps3 in safe mode lost power during resolution prompt now no video at all
If you were using an HDMI cable during the resolution prompt, then try entering safe mode using composite cables instead. This usually will reset the video to the mot basic resolution that PS3 supports. If this is successful, then you can switch back to HDMI and the resolution prompt should re-appear.
