I just finished following the guide to replace my screen. It looks great but it does not respond to touch at all. It’s not glued back in place yet, only held on by the flex cable to test the screen. I was very careful not to touch the screen on initial bootup. Did I get a lemon or am I missing something?

If the flex from the screen is fully connected to the motherboard and it does not appear that the connector or components surrounding the connector are damaged, you most likely have a defective screen which can happen. It’s great that you didn’t glue the screen on yet as most suppliers won’t take the screen back after it has been fully installed as damaged can occur during the removal. I would try a different screen if you’ve already rechecked the connection on the current screen.

There is a small ribbon connector near the bottom of the screen. It may be covered by black tape. Release the connector and remove and reseat the ribbon cable.
