So I replaced my iPhone battery and I used a metal tool to disconnect the battery and got a small spark, now I restored it with iTunes and the touch is not responding. The display looks perfect and has no visible artifacts. Update (08/29/2022) It randomly rebooted and now it works.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are notorious for touch disease where the touch IC become damaged or solder cracks and results in intermittent touch, no touch, or ghost touching. If the issue arises again, this is most likely the cause.
