m3d650sv no sound. This all started after we had taken my puppy off to the hospital (she ate a mushroom and was showing some worrying symptoms) and the tv was left on and was plugged (via HDMI) to my laptop. The laptop went to sleep so the TV simply had no sound or video going to it for a few hours by the time we got home. It was after that; that it started to not have audio. I went through a plethora of different solutions. Turning it off and back on would yield a few seconds of audio. Eventually I cleared the memory and the audio was back on for a few songs (I was playing things like Bohemian Rhapsody on my laptop to test it. Lasted like 15 minutes in total) I honestly thought it was fixed but then it went off once more. I’ve tried turning if off and unplugging it for amounts of time, resetting it a couple more times. No headway, I’ve certainly tried switching HDMI ports trying to see if it works on my PS4, seeing if it worked via my cable box. A bunch of different things.
If it works without issues with other devices like the sound bar and gaming system, I would try restaring the computer and make sure that it is set to not do anything like sleep, hibernate, or shut down after so long. Make sure it is set to do nothing on both battery and plugged in. Then make sure the sound on the computer works so leave something playing for awhile to make sure it doesnt go out. If the computer keeps playing and theres no issues then try plugging the hdmi into a different port and make sure that the tv and the computer are set up to use the tv speakers( they should be already but just make sure). Let me know the out come.
I check the cable box, also audio from my input , the sound volume is turned on , what can I do?
OMG! Same thing just happened to me. I did like one person suggested. Turned off laptop, waited a minute, took out the HDMI cord from the laptop - restarted and plugged the plug in and voila!
The problem is likely the amplifier in the main board. I have a Vizio M550SV and the built in speaker audio stopped working one day. It works for approximately one minute after startup and then distorts before stopping. Headphone and aux out also do not work, however, digital audio out via TOSLINK optical works still. There really is no reasonable fix for this unless you are willing to pay for a replacement main board or have the skills to successfully identify and then replace the failed discrete components on that main board (likely capacitors, perhaps others). Because the picture is fine I am using a sound bar to get the last bits of life from the set.
