Chosen Solution

I have an Alcatel One Touch. It’s been working fine until yesterday afternoon. In the morning, I was still getting sound notifications for texts and phone calls. In the afternoon, I realized I had missed calls and texts because no sound came with the ringing of the phone or the incoming text. Actually, the phone goes straight to voice mail, after first saying the voice mail box had not been set up (which it had, but I did it again). So I have checked that the volume is up, and that the ring/sound tones are set as they once were. I re-set up the voice mail box and it is working but the phone goes directly to it without ringing. I have restarted/rebooted it, and I have shut it off, waited, and turned it back on. I’m not sure what else to check. I have had others more savvy than I am look at it and they see that all is set up correctly but it isn’t making sounds with incoming calls or texts.

@cherthejoy go to Settings –> Applications –> Phone There should be a section there called “Notifications”. Make sure that that is switched on. Also do this with Settings –> Applications –>

If it’s just no notifications for messages then try this; SettingsnotificationsScroll to

Messaging

Check that

Block all is not turned on

Also look at; Open messagesTap the 3 dotes in the top right cornerSettingsNotificationsCheck settings Both of these ways do different things and just because you have the notifications ticked in the messaging app doesn’t mean you will be notified if you have the messages blocked in the main notifications phone settings. Hope this works for you, it did for me (my wife found the 2 settings were different and fixed it, little smarty :) )

This may happen when the phone has been accidentally set to do not disturb.

Actually u need to change the APN setting, instead of LTE to E only.

For the Alcatel A206DL try Settings - Personalization - Notices - App Notices. Then scroll down to Messages and make sure “Allow Notices” is on.

I have a Alcatel 3v 5032w and I wasn’t able to receive calls or texts. don’t know why this started but all I did was turn on WiFi calls and problem was resolved.

Similar problems, put phone in silent mode and took it off but the device didn’t unmute. If your lucky simply restarting your phone will fix it like I did. Hold the power button for twenty seconds or until it restarts. Then try a sound check in settings.
