I have three 7G ipod logic boards. None of them even beep when I plug them into the usb. (The usb does beep in the ports whenever I plug something else in.) Should a bare logic board make a sound when plugged in? I did go all the way and assembled a complete unit, but I only get a white screen. Thanks
@rusty54 no the bare board will not be recognized. You will have to have something that at least resembles an iPod to get it recognized. You cannot test boards alone by plugging them into your computer. The white screen means that your backlight turns on. What else did you check?
Thank you for replying, oldturkey03. I have replaced the screen in my 1TB ipod which was working fine till the damaged the screen. Now the screen just displays white. Reset, disk mode or diagnostic are unuseable as the screen is all white. It will go through the motions of a reset, but the screen comes up white…no apple. Also, there is no longer a beep when I insert the usb cord. After 2 computers and three cords, I assume the problem is the ipod. I have tried reseting the lcd many times, but it makes no difference, the screen is still all white.
