Hi, I have a iPhone 7 that’s dead. Drawing 0.0 when connecting charger. Connecting to battery it’s Stuck at 0.18a after pressing power button. The board looking like a big rainbow. Any idea how to continue?
Rainbow colour is some type of cleaning solution used on refurbished boards as far as I’m aware. Check for shorted lines with a multimeter
normally those “rainbow” areas are covered, so given their exposed, i’d have no idea what’s been done to the board. it might be worth giving it a cleaning/scrubbing with a new, soft toothbrush and some 99% IPA. i’ve actually brought back a few of dead boards with a good IPA soak. i would certainly say that’s the exception not the rule, but those few times it worked. after that, though, i’d be stuck. the “test with multimeter” advice is sound, but i don’t have enough knowledge to know what contact points to start probing around with. good luck.
