Hi, I just finished up with replacing the keyboard on my A1286 15 MacBook Pro. Serial no. ending in 7XK. After doing the keyboard replacement the device doesn’t turn on however the MagSafe charging light indicates that it is charging. Any ideas as to what I could be missing? This is my first repair on a MacBook so I’m very new to this… Thank you!
You got am spontaneous rebooted by disconnecting the battery and mag-safe then reconnecting. The first thing to check is the keyboard to logic board connector seating. See step #18 of this guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009 Upper Case Replacement
sounds like you have a bad connection or missing connection. Go through and double check to make sure all cables are attached to the mother board correctly. did you take out the battery and ac adapter before doing the keyboard? if not it could cause a short on the logic board.
