I received a Sony XBR 930D that has no power lights coming in the front. Most tutorials show where to place the leads to test for power throughout the boards. However, this TV, in particular, is not set up the same. It has a 24v power brick separate from the TV, and when it enters the TV, there are no test points to indicate the voltage level at a particular point, so I cant tell what to replace. Upon researching the issue, I’ve read story after story about problems with this TV and sony just replacing them. Many techs were sent out, and sony just replaces, but I’m not sure if this is due to the incompetence of the technician. What would be the best way to test this and fix?
They are replacing the power board on my tv
They replaced several boards on mine over a year ago and it just died again this week. Seems like a really bad design on that model.
