I have a 2007 MacBook Pro with no power, (no fans, no HDD, etc) with no MagSafe light, it has no battery but has an 85w charger, I’ve replaced the Left IO board, so what now? Should I get a battery to see if it will boot from it?
I’m always torn when someone tries to get one of these going. This series has its issues, I had two! One 15” & 17” This is the series had the famous GPU failure: Bad NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT chips. There’s really nothing you can do to fix this anymore as the good chips have long since be used up and anything you find today is a salvaged chip which just won’t hold up very long. That also included replacement logic boards which is what you likely need here. Bottom line shed a tear and look for a newer Unibody model .
