Chosen Solution

So thishappened last year around november, i never had the time to have it fixed since i have a back up phone. Anyway heres the problem, my iphone4 gsm has never been droped not even a scratch on it never had any water problem. Just one day after charging it overnight the next day the iphone4 gsm just wouldnt start, no power, no screen, no sound. Now if i connect the iphone4 on my pc, itunes recognizes it as a phone in recovery mode, now i tried to restore it ( during the process of restoring it and while the iphone is connected on the pc the iphone 4 still has no power, no screen or any signs of life except that the backlate heats up a little like when your charging it) and itunes says error code 1601 or some code number. My question now is whats wrong with my iphone4? Is it the battery, the logic board or the lcd? Or my iphone4 is just plain dead? This phone is already out of warranty so its either i could still fix it or i now have a very expensive paper weight?

When you found your iPhone cannot be recognized by iTunes. You can see the following tips:

  1. Restart Turn off your computer and your iOS device, then turn them on again. Update your computer Check to make sure that you’ve installed all required updates for your computer.
  2. Update iTunes Check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. Make sure your iOS device trusts your computer If you connect your iOS device to your computer and see “If you have not connected your iOS device to this computer before, unlock the device and tap Trust,” make sure that your device trusts the computer. If you use Windows XP and you see the trust alert on your device repeatedly, make sure that you installed iTunes. Learn how to resolve a repeating trust alert when using Windows XP. You might need to reset the lockdown folder.
  3. Check the USB cable Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead. USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might work only to charge those products and might not transmit data. Also, if you’re using a third-party case or extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.
  4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed iOS devices require Apple Mobile Device Support, which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below. After that, can you tell me what computer do you use?
