samsung un60j6200af The unit powers on as evidenced by the red light, but there is no picture or sound. Any guess as to what may be defective? Found it in a dumpster and looking to see if it might be a cheap fix. Thank you.
@jamboy could be a few things. My very first check would be the power board. You will have to open up the back on the TV and check the fuses on the board as well as checking for bad caps. Samsung once more is plagued by those. Post some good images of all of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. Use this guide for that.you also want to go ahead and in a darkened room turn the TV on and shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out shapes/menus/ or similar. That would mean that you have a backlight issue.
