Chosen Solution
This is an older VISIO LED TV. When I turn the power on the VISIO goes fron yellow to white and I see the screen back light. When I connect the HDMI cable to my laptop nothing appears on the screen. I cannot access the MENU or see the INPUT choices, any suggeations?
@daotm98 you need to let us know what exact model Vizio this is. Right now, since you do not get anything other than the backlight, it sounds like a bad main board. A bad T-con board is also possible but less likely. Remove the back of your TV and take a good look (don’t touch) at the boards. Check for anything that looks damaged, like domed leaky caps etc. Post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. It will allow us to see what you see.
