Cannot turn on with remote or button on TV. Unplugged power brick, waited overnight. Applied power again. Got a brief Sony logo on screen, then it went dark. I have repeated the power disconnect/reconnect several times. Results always the same. No picture (other than the Sony splash screen), no sound and no blinking lights of any kind. I notice that after the splash screen the display has a very dark purple-ish tint until I remove power. Is this a bad board? Any help with which one, if that is the problem? Thanks in advance!

Post some pictures of your boards with your question so we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question Make sure you have a multimeter so we can check a few things
Hi @jazzbo , Since you get the splash screen and the unit stays powered on, I’m wondering if it is a software problem rather than a hardware problem. Which would also be on the mainboard where the problem may be as suggested by @oldturkey03 Here’s a link showing how to update the firmware in your model TV. I don’t know if it will work if your TV’s firmware is a later version or not. You can contemplate attempting this as a last resort if all else fails to resolve the problem
It sounds like you have a faulty LD BOARD. Replace it you are good to go. just for emphasis it is the second picture you uploaded.
