No Picture But There Is Sound Lg Television

My LG47LA20V is getting sound but no picture, when I turn the tv on I get the LG logo for a split second then the screen is black but you can faintly make out the picture when you go up close. When I turn the tv off you see the full bright picture for a split second also. I’ve read this could be a backlight issue. If it’s a backlight issue how come when you turn the tv off you see what every channel is on for a split second? thanks

Hi, Did you mean to say a LG -47LA620V as I can’t find anything on a LG 47LA20V? If not, apologies. If so, then here’s an image of the No Video/Normal Audio troubleshooting flowchart, found in the TV’s service manual which should help you to find the problem.

(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) You will need to have a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to use it. Be safety aware as there are exposed lethal voltages on the power board when you will be testing it for the other voltages. If in doubt don’t, it’s not worth it. Call an expert.
