The TV lost its picture and am wondering if this is repairable or not. I do have sound and I can change channels.

@goo_goo first thing to do would be to unplug the set for about 15 minutes just to allow it to reset. Then plug it back in and see if there is any change. try all the inputs in the back off the set. DVD/HDMI/Component etc. just to make sure. If no change then turn it on and select a channel that you know is actively broadcasting. In a dark room use a flashlight and angel it against the LCD screen , see if you can make out shapes etc. If so, you are having a backlight issue. Unplug your set, remove the back cover and take a look at the power board. Look for anything obviously damaged, check capacitors for bulging, leaking etc. Post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide for that. It will allow us to see what you see. Right now my first suspect would be a failed power board.

I solved this by switching off tv and then switching off the power at the powerpoint (plug) which had a three way adaptor that powered all the attachments as well as the tv. Left the power off for 30 seconds. Switched power on again for TV and then at the powerpoint. TV rebooted and picture arrived. Hope that helps. If not you may have something more serious.
