I have two A1407 displays that both will not display any image or power the backlight. Troubleshooting info: There is no image whatsoeverThere is no backlightMagSafe charger worksDisplay is correctly detected under System InformationTried working Thunderbolt cableTried working power supply Has anyone had an issue with and subsequently repaired the main logic board or the LCD panel?
Lets see if we can narrow down the issue. Plugged in to your system and powered. Take flashlight and place it on the screen at an angle are you able to see your desktop icons? If you do then you know the issue is the back light driver which has failed. Update (03/03/2018) Did you haver a power surge or lighting strike? You’ll need to find a schematic and trace out the voltages on the logic board, most likely its gone.
