Hi, So my MacBook’s screen didn’t work one day so I connected it through HDMI to an external screen and it shows up fine, everything else with the laptop works fine too. I have reset the PRAM and SMC but still nothing on the display. I have attached pics of the lcd connector on the board as well as the LCD cable. I also saw that a capacitor next to the lcd connector has a dark edge so would that be the problem? Thanks in advance.

It looks like you have two problems! The cable has lost one of its pins (top) and your cap is looking a bit worn at the solder joint. I would start off replacing the display cable. Its a bit of work! You’ll need to take the display off following this guide MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 Display Assembly Replacement. ones off you can slide off the clutch cover and carefully reach in to disconnect the cable from the LDC panel.
