TV Model: PS59D8000 The TV turns on then it turns off after a short while. If I unplug the black cable to the tcon board as shown in the image below, it turns on and stays on.
I have unplugged every other board and it does not stop it from turning off. Nor does it make the backlights work. I am curious to whether the tcon board is what sends the signal to allow power to the backlight? I know it processes the image, but does it determine whether the backlights receive power? If so, I believe it could be the tcon board, but I am new to this. I also replaced the powerboard with a brand new one, which changed nothing. Here is the entire TV backpanel:
Any help is very much appreciated :) Part numbers: Powerboard: BN44-00447A Main: BN94-04680C Tcon: LJ41-09448A
@azcam what you are describing sounds like a bad t-con board. The Backlight is actually turned on by the mainboard however, a bad t-con board can prevent the backlight to come on. Try to connect it all back together. Then disconnect the main board form the power board and see if your backlight comes on.
