Hi all, After replacing the taptic engine of my iphone 7, the screen does not have backlight anymore. You can slightly see the screen when you look at a certain angle. I did not remove or disassemble the screen when replacing the taptic. What could cause this problem?
If you did not disconnect the battery/discharge the device after disconnecting the battery, this could have led to a short on the board that damaged your back light. In this scenario, you’d need a new screen. To discharge a device, hold down the power button for at least fifteen seconds after disconnecting the battery.
I would check the screen flex first where it bends through 180deg. its very easily torn, could be the slightest of nics, also try a new screen if you can.
