Chosen Solution
Hello, I recently picked up a used Switch. This happened when I was playing in docked mode with the original dock and cable. Things seemed good, but the other day, when marathoning a game, I noticed the screen kinda flicker between pixelated and regular resolution. I realized that despite being in the dock, my switch said it was at 1% battery. I stopped playing and left the console for a bit and now it’s fully charged. The battery seems to have drained while I was playing pretty intensively for a fair amount of time. I’m wondering if this is a sign of some sort of issue that might be worth fixing. I haven’t opened up the switch to check if the fans need cleaning, although I wonder if that’s advisable. Not sure if this is a sign that some part needs replacing. For reference, I’m also using one of those USB adapters to use a PS4 controller with my switch. I don’t know if that also significantly increases power consumption. Also, my room is air conditioned.
When did you purchase it? There should be a warrenty although you would have to check on nintendo support, you might possibly even be elegiable for the new power efficent Switch if it was only in the last month or maybe July.
