I had to turn off the breaker to my son’s room for electrical work, and ever since then the monitor shows a much darker picture. At night, you can’t even see the room at all! Does anyone have thoughts on how I can possibly fix this?
The problem of night vision can be caused by an unstable power supply and it may be that your Infant Optics batteries/power source are faulty or not placed correctly. I fixed this issue by reading this guide https://www.10babythings.com/infant-opti…. You can first do a battery reset by removing/unplugging the power source and putting the battery pack back after 5 to 10 minutes.
I don’t know how, but it seems to be working again. We have the zoomed in lens and the company said to remove that and see if night vision works without the added lens. That didn’t work. Tonight though I just turned the brightness basically all the way up and I can finally see an image! It’s more grainy than normal, but I’ll take that over a black screen. I also unplugged everything on the camera at one point, just in case that’s something you haven’t tried yet.
We had the same problem today with both cameras for our Infant Optics DXR-8, but simply taking the battery out of the monitor for 10 minutes, then putting it back in, fixed it for us!!!
It sounds like the near IR LED’s are not turning on. They should be glowing slightly in full darkness.
Let me know if you figure this out because I’m having the same problem with my Infant Optics DXR-8.
Our night vision stopped working 2 weeks ago. We never had a wide angle lens. All we see at night is a variable black and gray pixelated image. So disappointed in the company. They won’t give us a replacement or even fix it because we don’t have the original receipt (monitor was a shower gift) and we have been using it about 16 months.
Had the same issue last night…had to turn off the breaker, and when I turned it back on, night vision wasn’t working. I ended up taking the battery out of the monitor for 15 minutes, and I also turned off and unplugged the camera for that amount of time. I reinstalled the battery, plugged the camera back in, and turned it on in a bright room. When I turned the lights off, the night vision was working again.
This guy shows a fix for getting another source for the infrared light. https://youtu.be/SoG-Gk-yDy8
