Hello! My Nexus 5x was problem. Sometime battery doesn’t charge and charge after reboot device. Android shows a constant charge of the battery, even when the phone is not charging. Sometimes the phone does not charge at all. And discharged when turned off. Please help if you can. Thank you! Add: The phone is heated around the fingerprint sensor. The port was cleaned, but the problem remained. I think there can be a problem in the power controller. Is it possible? The phone does not discharge quickly in flight mode.
if it says its charging while its not plugged in, this means there is a short in the charging circuit. this can include, battery, Charge port, or Motherboard Start by scrubbing the port, and ajoining board area with a toothbrush soaked in99% isopropyl. its a long shot, but sometimes cleaning the board is all you need to do. try changing the charge port, as it is the most likely failure. replacing the port usually gets this running properly. next most common is the battery. there is a small circuit inside each battery, which is continuously exposed to heat, and can fail. if your motherboard is failing, then you will need to replace the motherboard.
It might just be a faulty charger, try using a different one as well as a different USB cable to see if it works. I had a similar problem with my tablet (Galaxy Tab S2) charger, replacing it helped.
