I recently installed a new trackpad in my daughters early 2011 13” MacBook pro running High Sierra. The old trackpad started randomly opening pages without clicking when you would hoover over an item! The new trackpad is behaving but it now takes multiple clicks to open items like a program or webpage rather than a single click. I searched online and saw possible remedies for newer Retina MacBook’s but nothing for older models. I wonder if the trackpad I received from IFixit is defective or does anyone know of a software adjustment that can be made?
Check the battery for swelling.
