Hello. From IFIXIT, I bought and installed a right speaker/subwoofer in my Early 2011 15” MacBook Pro. The speaker sounds fine, but the subwoofer isn’t working. Is there any way to test if it is functioning or not functioning?
Does the speaker look damaged in any way? The membrane can sometimes be blown but too loud a signal. If the speaker is not damaged the easiest way is to measure the resistance of the speaker unit comparing the value to a second working unit.
