I have a severely cracked glass screen. I replaced the screen with iFixit product. But now the glass screen will not respond to touch. Any suggestions on what is wrong?
Hi there, It is likely to be a connection issue, make sure the new screen is correctly attached to the logic board and that you haven’t damaged the flex cable. If the problem still persists then have a look at the logic board to make sure you haven’t damaged any of the components. If you are confident there isn’t any damage then it may just be a faulty screen.
Disconnect the digitizer, clean the connector and the cable with 99% IPA. Make sure there aren’t any tears on the flex, then plug it back in. Should fix it up. If not, did you happen to break the digitizer connector on the board? Those connectors are kind of famous for being brittle and breaking. If so, a well placed piece of Kapton tape on the flex should keep it in the connector. Check the flex, clean the connectors and make sure the flex is pressed in tightly.
