Can anyone explain the most common reason of new battery failures…. I have had quite a few replacement batteries fitted to iPhones that have been faulty with the most common symptom being unexpected shut downs at 40% or lower. I get it would happen with a battery that has had several hundred cycles but what would cause this in a new battery? The latest one being in my 7 that I purchased from replacebase

Hello, Batteries should go through a charge cycle from 100% to flat and back up again to recalibrate the battery, especially new ones. However, you may have gotten a faulty battery, or a used apple battery that has been reset and resold deceptively as brand new. Hope this helps (:
