I’ve just installed my new screen onto my iPhone 6s and my Touch ID no longer works. I’m not receiving any error messages, the sensor just doesn’t detect my finger being placed on the button, nor does reachability work. When moving the home button back to the old screen and connecting it again, Touch ID is operational again. Any suggestions? My home button gasket is also loose as the adhesive isn’t very strong any more, is it possible to replace just the gasket rather than installing an entirely new home button and losing touch id?

The issue is caused by the home button extension cable that runs through the back of the screen being defective. Contact iFixit for a replacement screen as that is defective.
