I just installed the ifixit iPhone 5s battery replacement with adhesive and now have an LCD rainbow along the center line. It shows up when pressing the home button and when tapping the lower half. The screen does not experience this effect when the LCD was removed and held away from the phone body with the connectors attached and powered on. I removed all the old adhesive. I attached the new adhesive. I went as far as pealing off the ifixit label on the battery and it helped just a little. Update (04/30/2016) The battery didn’t change dimensions from when new, but after sitting overnight in the phone, the screen issues are a little better. Yesterday, it would rainbow on taping on the lower half, but today it rainbows on a direct hit. The battery install is one shot. If I were to remove the battery and reinstall, I’d need another battery because I’m sure I’d bend it.

I put to much focus on the new part going in my phone and not enough on the old parts going back. The metal bar over the battery connector became flipped. It has been reversed an all is fine now.

Since your order was recent, go ahead and call or email iFixit. They will gladly send you out a new one. It appears your battery is swelling and that is no bueno :(
