a few weeks ago the battery in my old iphone 6 started going downhill and dying very quickly and one day after my phone died it just never came back alive. I brought it to apple to see if they can replace the battery but apparently i had water damage in my phone from an event i have no recollection of so they would not fix it, so i bought a replacement batter off ifixit and replaced it myself. when i first put the new battery in it worked great, the phone came back up, but as i was calibrating it i realized it was taking a very long time to charge the battery up to 100% and when it got there the power was going down quicker than i expected. a few days after fully calibrating it (letting it die to ~10%, then fully charging to 100%, then again back down to ~10%) it just shut off and will not turn back on again at all. I’m wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it is my phone that is broken or i just got a bad battery.

There is 2 scenarios here. One is that if there is liquid damage in the phone and you have replaced it with a new battey allowing to turn on again and then having the phone shut down completely would be most likely caused by a short in the board and would need to be pulled apart and cleaned and checked for shorts. secondly the device may have had damage to Tristar ic which is a USB communication ic that may have failed and will need Micro Soldering to be repaired.
