MacBook Pro Early 2015 13” New battery fitted by a local technician. I had to take it back as he seemed to have messed up the keyboard (w-o characters weren’t working). He fixed at his cost. Get laptop home for the second time. It has some charge and is able to function, I think, without the cable. So I try to fully charge it but it won’t go past 30%. Then I realise every time I unplug it switches off. Battery icon says it isn’t charging. I’ve tried resetting smc but this hasn’t worked.

. I will take it back to the guy but I am somewhat worried that he is going to make up an excuse to say that the laptop is faulty and it isn’t his responsibility. Any help much appreciated. TIA.

@macondo - That points to the charging logic is not working correctly. This could be either the battery or logic board. Without having a spare battery to plug in to remove the current battery its a toss-up which needs service.
