Using an iFixit battery and tools, I replaced my old iPhone 6 battery today. I’m an overly cautious, detail oriented, instructions following perfectionist. I was observed by the man who gave me those qualities, who has done a battery replacement of his own. I have reconnected everything twice. I currently have the old battery plugged into the phone and plugged into the charger. My screen is dead. No signs of life. I plugged the new battery in on the charger for upwards of ten minutes twice in case it was dead. The screen won’t even show me the super low battery icon. Did I just buy myself a new phone?

What was wrong with the old battery? Was it that it went flat and would not charge after that? Can you check if the apple logo at least appears when you unplug the battery and the charger in?

Troubleshoot background drain. If no app is draining the battery, try these steps. They can fix issues that could drain battery in the background. To restart your device, press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
