A friend brought me their phone that wouldn’t power on at all, wouldn’t charge. I ordered a charging port, and replaced the battery while waiting for it to arrive. The battery turned the phone on, and I could charge it. The phone was working just fine, so I gave it back to my friend. 2 days later, they brought it back with the same issue. Now that I have the charging port in hand, I went ahead and replaced it, assuming that was still the issue. After replacing the port, still no power. As a result, I also threw in a new battery, and replaced the screen as the phone had been dropped before. Still no fix, but wanted to test with new working hardware just to make sure. I’m at a loss.
It might be a bad battery or maybe the charging port. Try putting the old battery and charging port back in and see what happens. Did you unplug the battery connector before you took the screen off?
