I have an Easy Share 182. When I put new batteries in the camera would not work. Any suggestions?

Make sure you put the batteries in the correct orientation as indicated inside the battery compartment. The battery contacts may be dirty or corroded. Inspect the battery compartment for presence of corrosion (usually clearly visible as greenish crud). If the contacts are corroded, they can be cleaned with fine emery paper - but cleaning the contacts on the far side of the compartment may be tricky. Taping a bit of emery paper on to a stiff brush is one solution. Make sure the resulting dust doesn’t get into the camera’s innards. If the contacts are not corroded, they may still be dirty even if they appear OK. In this case, wiping the contacts with a pencil eraser usually works. Cameras can be incredibly fussy about batteries, therefore: If you use disposable batteries, use only premium quality alkaline type. Note that you must use fresh batteries only. Batteries that still work in e.g. a flashlight may not have sufficient juice to power the camera. Also note that disposable batteries have limited shelf life and don’t work well below 10°C/50°F.Be wary of counterfeit batteries. Such counterfeits are widely sold at e.g. convenience stores. They look exactly like the well known premium brands but are of much inferior performance. Usually they are sold at lower prices, if you see a packet of premium AA cells at a very attractive price chances are they are counterfeits.Rechargeable NiMH batteries are preferred due to their superior characteristics (in techspeak, much lower impedance and flatter discharge curve) when compared to disposable batteries. They last twice as long as premium grade disposable batteries and can be recharged hundreds of times. A quartet of good rechargeable AA cells plus a decent charger will set you back $20, but it’s money well spent.

Maybe you’ve tried this or no longer have the camera but the batteries on mine positive and negative were opposite of what it read. So, the positive was actually negative and vice versa. It’s worked fine that way. I came on looking for a cracked case replacement. Not the door but near the door so hoped to replace the entire plastic casing around camera. Anyone selling?
