Hello, when I opened my iPhone 5S it seems that I broke my Home Button Cable so that after assembling the phone again, the Home Button does not work any more. Can I buy this part individually or do I have to replace the whole button? I’d really appreciate if you could tell me which part I have to buy to fix this one. For a picture of the damaged connector cable, please see the photo attached.
The problem with trying to replace the flex cable is that the cable is tied to the logic board of the iPhone for security purposes. I have not personally soldered a flex cable or connection back together, but others have. I believe there are six connections that must be soldered.
The chip in the home button unit is coded with a matching code on the mother board . If you change home button unit then you will not have touch I’d again . Apple have the equipment to code a new home button to suit the phone , they only normally change as a complete screen unit . This is at a high price and mainly only carried out if the phone hasn’t been tampered with.
