I have a Toshiba Satellite C675-s7322 That I bought at an estate auction, and there is a BIOS password? I have tried everything I can think of to bypass it. Any ideas?
There is no way to get past the Win7 password into an account. It is possible to get into a WIN7 computer and make a new account. try: on Windows 7 , use F2 on cold start to go to “bootup options”, select -Safe Boot with DOS command window, then in the DOS window that should appear, type in Net user administrator /active:yes {Enter} then restart the computer, you should now see the hidden account “administrator” login icon which does NOT need a password, just click to enter . It is an Administrator level account which will allow you to CREATE A NEW Windows USER ACCOUNT of new naming, via Control Panel / User Accounts / Create Account. If you set it for Password access, be sure to write down the password somewhere ! BE SURE to give the new account full administrator privileges/access. I usually make two new full Administrator Access Level accounts, both password protected. Exit and restart ; check to make sure you can actually sign in to your new account(s) . (login to one, then use “Switch User”) Open a DOS window , type in Net user administrator /active:no {Enter} Restart computer; your “invisible” administrator account login icon should now have disappeared again ! BUT don’t try getting rid of an existing account that you do not have the password for it, Windows will want the account password in order to do that . Shhh, don’t tell anyone ! grumpylumpy
