It happened updating from macOS High Sierra to macOS Mojave……The iMac turns on and within 3 seconds it reboots again, it does not matter what troubleshooting step I take, it ends up doing the same. The only time it doesn’t reboot automatically is if I set it into Thunderbolt mode or try to boot from USB using “Option key” at start……..I have tried the following:
- Run the Apple Diagnostic Tool (without errors)
- Reset SMC (nothing changed)
- Reset PRAM (nothing changed)
- Disconnect all external devices (nothing changed) -Tried recovery mode (wifi and hardwire) nothing changed -Tried recovery partition - no change -Tried reinstalling macOS via USB bootable drive - no change, no matter what OS -Was able to set into Thunderbolt mode and connect to another iMac, was able to pull files out, erase the drive Carbon Copy Cloner from my other iMac - no change -Tried booting from other working drives via USB - no change -Tried different memory from my second iMac- no change -Tried booting into safe mode - no change -Tried going into single user mode…..it looks like it starts to go but again restarts I was able to snap a few pictures of the Kernel panics as it shows really fast on the screen
Sounds like the upgrade bricked ur computer. :( I would contact apple. (not that anyone wants to do that)
