Here is a video provided for audio purposes: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/o1IcAaDD4… In it, you can hear the PS4 take in the disc and then some noise that’s not normal. It repeats a few times, then you hear a noise as if it’s trying to pull the disc in again. Then the repeated noise a couple more times. Then some spinning, followed by giving up. I’ve had this apart several times and everything appears normal. I actually got it to work a couple times, but 95% of the time, it does not. In my search, I’ve found people saying to rebuild database and if that doesn’t work, initialize or reinstall system software. Rebuild did not work. Initialize on 9.51 did not work. Installing recovery firmware 9.60 not only did not work, IT MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE! But I’m glad that it did because I’m hoping that now, the noise can be better explained. When I went to put a disc in after installing 9.60, the claws were kind of fighting me, so I pulled the disc back. However, the console did all of the noises you can hear in the video. Only now, there’s no disc in it for real. Any attempt to insert the disc now is futile. I think the claws are in a spread out state. If I reboot the console, with no disc near it, it immediately makes all the noises you hear in the video. SO! Assuming I can get the claws to function again, does anybody know what those noises indicate? OR if not, can you tell me what is the best way to expose the 1200’s BD so that I can watch it operate? Thanks!

The load/unload mechanism seems to be working, it’s either the drive motor or the laser. I don’t hear any disc spinning so I’d start with the motor or motor power.
