Chosen Solution

So I have a PlayStation 4 and it immediately shutdown nearly 2 to 3 seconds after the blue system light is lit. I first thought it might be the power supply, so I purchased one and replaced it using your teardown guide (which was most helpful, thank you) but it still continues with its initial problem. It even does this without the hard drive placed in the console as I thought perhaps the hard drive was the problem. All the wires seem secure and the fan does not have any dust or obstructions though I cannot confirm it spins as it doesn’t not stay on long enough for it to start spinning. The only thing I did not do is place more thermal paste on the CPU which I will do come this weekend, but could you provide any other suggestions towards which I could repair the console. You can reach me on Twitter as well at @fxhmantis if you have additional questions. Thank you.

You’ve already discovered that this problem is not caused by the power supply. For anyone else reading this, this problem is very rarely caused by a bad power supply. That being said it is very likely that you have a problem with the APU or the connections between the APU and the motherboard. This problem is usually fixable but sometimes it is not. There is no good way to fix these yourself. Unfortunately you will probably have to have a professional take a look at it. I wish there was a good diy fix for it but there just isn’t at this point. I hope this helps.
