My Whirlpool dishwasher (WDF750SAYM2) is stuck blinking ‘start’ and ‘cleaning’. When I push Cancel the Start button flashes. There is water in the bottom and the dishwasher will not complete a washing cycle. It does not respond to diagnostics mode. Also if I close the door it seems to just start a wash cycle but never finish. If I press cancel nothing happens. I have to open the door to stop it and water is left in the bottom. It did go into diagnostics a bit back with a 6-6 indicating cool water or turbidity sensor but later started this blinking the start/cleaning nonsense before taking any action. I replaced the main electronics board through someones recommendation but it did not help, it was deflating because immediately after completing the swap and powering on it just started the same start/washing blinking. I cannot see any shorting on the heating element and the water coming in is hot enough. Over the past year I have replaced the water inlet valve and everything worked great for a bit after that. Then I had to replace the drain pump which did in fact have a broken fin and this had things up and running for months.
Sounds to me like it wont drain, check the pipe with a flashlight and if you find a clog of butter, smack the pipe with your flashlight a few time while sucking on it with a shop vac, mainly after getting it drained out and cleaned in the guts area of the sump, the turbidity sensor is like a ppm meter, it reads how dirt the water is basically and some have a built in thermistor that has todo with the heat system. Try shuting the power to it down while removing the water and cleaning the sensor head.
