My VCR turns off after about 3 seconds, and then starts flashing the CST.in light. I don’t visibly see anything caught inside, even after taking off the case. It does take tapes but due to it shutting off and not turning back on, I have to open the case and fish it back out. I have found people online with similar issues, but none of them helped me.
The tray that the tape sits in and moves it may be out of sync or position. Unplug it, put your fingers in like a cassette sort of & try to push it back in, then pull it back to the front of VCR. This may do the trick.
