Jesse Marks this sounds like a digitizer error. First you want to try a reset so as to rule out software. If it still does not work after you reset your tablet you have some digitizer issues. This video should help with the replacement.
Would you be able to drag something around in a game, throughout the whole screen or can you just not go left to right
