My system usually goes off after a while because it was overheating and we increase the fan which made it make so much noise. Then the screen started going off and will come up when i connect it to an external monitor. But recently when i put it on. It comes on show the booting screen and go off after few second without making any noise. Please any idea what is wrong. I wanted to change the fan. will it help? Thank you
My guess is that the power supply is overheating and shutting off. I’m not familiar with this computer but it could be that a lot of dust has collected. If you can open the case to check and vacuum if it is dusty, especially around any vents. Make sure the AC is unplugged before opening the case. It could be that the supply is going bad as well. As mentioned by mayer, it could also be a bad hard drive that won’t boot properly but I don’t know how connecting an external monitor would fix that, so that was odd.
