Chosen Solution
I had previously dropped my phone and cracked the screen, and since then my phone has fallen into a state of absolute agony. The home button fell off, pieces of the screen chipped and fell off. Yesterday, the screen would only turn on once and a while, and it would show random colors of lines and squares. I can’t back up my phone to iTunes because I have to put my password in, but it wont let me swipe. Help? Update (09/28/2015)

A new screen will likely solve this problem, or perhaps just lifting the connectors and reseating this screen. Make sure to disconnect the battery first.
