I closed the computer and stepped away when I came back and opened the image changed to a negative image
Maybe you accidentally activated the ‘“invert colours” feature? Try to disable it by going to the following menu: Settings —> Accessibility —> Display —> Invert Colours I think there is a shortcut combination for this but I couldn’t find it immediately.
