My SANYO BlueRay player has stopped playing any of my BlueRay disc’s. However, IT WILL PLAY regular DVD’s. Since it plays regular disc’s , I’ll rule out a motor problem. All of my disc’s are totally free of scratches and dust free. I contacted Sanyo but they were of no help. When I insert a Blueray disc, and I click on the symbol for disc, it flashes once but then does absolutely nothing. I don’t know the 1st thing about DVD players but I’m thinking that the lens for BlueRay is dirty. What is the best way to clean it ? Any other suggestions would also be appreciated. Thank you

My first suggestion would be to blow into the slot. Bigger dust parts will be blown from lenses. Be careful to use dry air and not spit into the slot. Many years ago this worked often with CD/DVD Drives.

@ramses2 use one of the commercially available lens cleaner discs and run it through the process a few times. If that does not work you will have to take your Blu-Ray player apart to try to clean the lens manually. I usually wipe off the lenses with 95% (or greater) isopropyl alcohol or a cotton swab if the drive can expose the lense. This will of course only work if it is caused by a dirty lens, not a failed reader etc. Let us know the exact model of your BR player
