i have 3 large flares coming up from the bottom of the screen
It is a little difficult to diagnose without seeing the issue so if you are able to provide a picture of the problem, that would help, but based on what you stated here and what I know to be more common failure points, my first suspicion would be an issue with the back-light. I have seen failing back-lights cause similar issues before. That is where I would start investigating.
